Gloucester fly-half Freddie Burns says he is still undecided on his future, with his contract up in the summer.
Burns, who has three England caps, was the leading points scorer in the Premiership last season and racked up 350 points in all competitions.
"At the minute it’s one of those decisions I’m really struggling to make," Burns told BBC Gloucestershire.
"There’s no doubt about it, it’s affecting my performances slightly, which is why I want to get an answer from myself sooner rather than later.
"I’d go as far to say the last couple of months have probably been the toughest for me rugby wise."
Since his debut in 2009, the Cherry and Whites fly-half has made 112 appearances at the club, scoring 955 points in all competitions.
He was part of Stuart Lancaster’s squad for the recent Autumn internationals but failed to make an appearance.
"I spent an hour and a half on the phone to Jonny Wilkinson, talking to him, and he was kind enough to call me up," Burns added.
"To speak to someone like him when he was in a similar position at Newcastle was great.
"I’ve had so many different views and opinions, it’s time for me to knuckle down and do what’s best for me.
"It’s a tough decision as it’s a club I love so much and there is so much attraction for Gloucester."
